We decided not to go through with the orange juice stall over summer, it would just detract from the goals. Instead, some hot sauces are baking into SulisTech. That will be my summer.
So there it was. The Holiday Inn Runcorn East, after messing my train connections, it took 5 Keroucian hours to get to Warrington in Cheshire and two lovely ladies to make it to the hotel. I was in time for the end of normal time at England v. Portugal. Everyone in the hotel lobby was plopped in awe at the big screens and after settling in my (double) room, a couple of beers were in order to take the tension and forget the day. It was moments of sheer gut-wrenching, and when Portugal scored in extra time, I thought it was all over. Not to be, and the drama could not have been any more tense with a pen. shootout. I went to bed, and discovered a note saying there was 8 grades of pillow so I should choose one to have the best night's sleep. If anyone wants to know, I've come to the opinion that the Czechs are playing some superb football and if anyone deserves a chance, it's them. It's about time somebody made a scene to change old opinions. If Don Vito Corleone was around, he'd finger his chin and hoarsely ... agree. Goodnight moon.
It was a wonderful hotel, in the morning I opened my curtains and looked to the countryside, and saw many rabbits munching at the grass and shoots without any cares. I took a taxi after a phat breakfast to ATOS Origin where a full day was spent doing a group exercise (which went pants since everybody sucked), a presentation and interview. I liked their style - the Systems Integration division secure government contracts and make required additions to a first proposal, turning a £10m contract into a £100m one. I met some senior (level 6/6) management who explained quite a lot about their current work. I'll know the decision next week. Several hours spent with a few new friends ... saw me back in London.
Loads of R&R for the whole weekend :))) and I'll be back to Bath on Sunday night. I've got a new housemate moving in on Monday night, never met him. So perhaps I can forget about work this weekend and get away with it ... yeah! I think that's the idea. GaZ is having such a wonderful time and I couldn't be more happy! Ben Thomstad sent me some photos of Norway last night ... showing off his very promising hobby of photography. Hope the new camera is settling down well matey!
oooh those are some nice photos of Norway. Well done Mr Thomstad! But they still don't do the country justice. It's soooo beautiful here!! Too bad the price of alcohol is ludicrous (a can of Carling was 'on sale' for only 25 Kroner... just over £2!).
